About Me
Replacing an internal door

When my house was renovated in the 1970s they replaced the beautiful old doors with cheap plywood doors. I wanted to replace our current doors with some feature doors that help to emphasise the beautiful dimensions of our house while allowing us to make the most of the light and warmth in the different rooms. I have compared options with a range of different doors before making my final decision. This blog talks about our project to select new doors in our home and I hope it will be useful to other people who are trying a similar project and replacing their internal doors.

Six Trends In Door Blinds 2022

Priscilla Graham

Door blinds are a great solution for controlling privacy and light levels in your home. But they can also be an interesting design element that can make or break the aesthetic of your space. In 2022, expect to see these six trends in door blinds:

1. Modern Blinds With Translucent Colours

When it comes to blind trends in 2022, the theme is more colours, more colours, and more colours — and that's not just talking about the traditional colour wheel. Think more along the lines of metallic, shimmery colours and opalescent glosses. If you're looking to make a statement with your blinds, you'll want to give these a try.

2. Blinds In Bright White

Speaking of colours, bright white is back. If you've just moved into a new place and are looking to brighten it up with some fresh door blinds, think about trying the new matte white blinds that are super popular right now.

They have a retro feel but also look modern, so they'll fit in any home or space.

3. Sound Blocking Blinds

Blinds are not just for keeping your succulents out of direct sunlight and your new leather couch from fading; they're also a brilliant and affordable way of reducing the noise in your home.

Sound blocking blinds work by absorbing the sound, rather than blocking it, which means you don't have to worry about feeling isolated from the sounds that make your home feel like a home (like laughter, dogs barking, and kids playing).

It's not hard to find them. They're made with the same materials as blackout blinds, so all you need to do is search for "blackout blinds" and then filter by thickness. Blinds made out of thicker material will do a better job of blocking out noise from outside

4. Cordless Blinds

Cordless blinds are here to stay! With all the advances in technology in recent years, cordless blinds are no longer an option reserved for designers or people who have a ton of money to throw around on flashy features like this one: they're affordable, easy to install and use, and accessible to everyone who might want them.

5. Roller Shade Blinds

Roller shade blinds are back, and they're hotter than ever in 2022. Widely available, roller shade blinds can be found in all kinds of colours, textures, and patterns. They are made from fabric that is wrapped around a rolling mechanism, which raises and lowers the blinds. The fabric can be thick or thin, to control light more or less

6. Smart Blinds

If you're planning on investing in blinds for your home, now's the time to buy smart blinds. In 2022, they will be all the rage.

Smart blinds are a great investment because they allow you to fully control your blinds from wherever you are in the world. You can set timers for them to open and close, so you can have them open and close at times when it makes sense for your routine, and avoid having to remember to do it yourself all the time. They are also more energy-efficient than manual blinds because of their ability to set timers, which means that you'll save money on your energy bill every month (and help the environment).
